A few months after I was born again in New York in 1998, I moved to Cyprus for a few months and joined a lovely home group fellowship in  Larnaca. When it became known that I was a professional musician, one of the guys at the fellowship, Nikos, said to me, “Play music for the Lord.”

 

Even though I participated in the worship band in my fellowship in New York and recently in Israel; my main activity as a professional musician involves playing secular music to a secular audience. 

 

As children begotten of God, It is liberating to always be aware that everything we do, we do for the Lord.

Worship songs 

 

In the last two years I have started producing worship songs with the bouzouki as the main instrument. Some of the songs are originally in English or Greek for which I or someone else have written or adapted Hebrew lyrics from scripture. Some have just been given a Greek bouzouki orchestration with the original lyrics. 

 

I’m currently working on my original worship songs, music and lyrics.

Short Musicography

 

I’ve been playing the bouzouki and performing since 1984. My first performance was in December 1984 two months before my 12th birthday. 

 

I performed five times a week with a hotel band throughout my teenage years. I was in the army band for the first few months of my military service and continued performing at weddings and parties with a local band until I was discharged in October 1993. 

 

From 1994 to 2002 I performed as a bouzouki player and singer with a local New York band called “The Geminis Orchestra”

 

Since 2011 I’ve been performing around Israel with pianist Itzik Zarum and our band and Greek music production Bouzouki Groove. 

 

Over the last four years I have written and completed my method for music and bouzouki instruction “Bouzouki Foundations and More" and have worked with hundreds of students in Israel and internationally. 

 

Over the last five years I have independently learned music production and have produced and released covers and my original music at my home studio.

 

Towards the end of 2021 I composed and produced seven songs which will serve as the soundtrack for an Israel movie that is coming out in the Fall of 2022.
