"לָכֵן כָּל הַשּׁוֹמֵעַ אֶת דְּבָרַי אֵלֶּה וְעוֹשֶׂה אוֹתָם יִהְיֶה דּוֹמֶה לְאִישׁ נָבוֹן אֲשֶׁר בָּנָה אֶת בֵּיתוֹ עַל הַסֶּלַע. הַגֶּשֶׁם יָרַד, בָּאוּ הַשִּׁטְפוֹנוֹת וְנָשְׁבוּ הָרוּחוֹת וְהָלְמוּ בַּבַּיִּת הַהוּא, אַךְ הוּא לֹא נָפַל, כִּי יֻסַּד עַל הַסֶּלַע."

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock."

"Kαθένας, λοιπόν, που ακούει τα λόγια μου αυτά, και τα πράττει, θα τον εξομοιώσω με έναν φρόνιμο άνθρωπο, που οικοδόμησε το σπίτι του επάνω στην πέτρα· και κατέβηκε η βροχή, και ήρθαν τα ποτάμια, και φύσηξαν οι άνεμοι, και χτύπησαν με ορμή επάνω στο σπίτι εκείνο, και δεν έπεσε· επειδή, ήταν θεμελιωμένο επάνω στην πέτρα."
