Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Isaiah 52:1 (NASB)

1 Awake, awake,

Clothe yourself in your strength, O Zion;

Clothe yourself in your beautiful garments,

O Jerusalem, the holy city;

For the uncircumcised and the unclean

Will no longer come into you.

The Lord is calling out to His people. The call goes out to Zion. The call goes out to Israel. The Lord is calling the people that He foreknew and He Himself will finish the work for the deliverer will come out of Zion and all of Israel will be saved. And this, for the glory of His name.

The call goes out to us believers

The Body of Messiah on earth has an active part in this calling out to the people of Israel because in them all the nations of the earth will be blessed.

Romans 11:26 (NASB)

26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,

To the Jew first and then to the gentile

Romans 1:16 (NASB)

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

The Lord will work a great salvation in Israel and the whole world will see and be amazed and the Lord will be glorified in His people Israel and a great multitude that cannot be numbered from all tribes and all nations and from every tongue will be saved.

Ezekiel 36:22 (NASB)

22 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for My holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you went.

Ezekiel 36:36 (NASB)

36 Then the nations that are left round about you will know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted that which was desolate; I, the LORD, have spoken and will do it.”

Psalms 126:1-2 (NASB)

1 When the LORD brought back the captive ones of Zion,

We were like those who dream.

2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter

And our tongue with joyful shouting;

Then they said among the nations,

“The LORD has done great things for them.”

For Israel will go through a great tribulation but God’s promise to them is of a great salvation; For Jerusalem has received double for her sins and God will take away her transgressions and her sins will be remembered no more. For if their casting away is salvation for the gentiles what will their acceptance be but life from the dead.

Isaiah 40:2 (NASB)

2 “Speak kindly to Jerusalem;

And call out to her, that her warfare has ended,

That her iniquity has been removed,

That she has received of the LORD’S hand

Double for all her sins.”

Romans 11:15 (NASB)

15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

The Lord is calling His people Israel to awake because though them salvation will come to the gentiles because in them all the nations and all the families of the earth will be blessed, for those who bless them will be blessed and those who curse them will be cursed.

Revelation 7:9-10 (NASB)

9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; 10 and they cry out with a loud voice, saying,

“Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

The Messiah will not return until the remnant of Israel cry out in their affliction to the one whom they have pierced because they will see Him no more until they say blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.

Matthew 23:38-39 (NASB)

38 Behold, your house is being left to you desolate! 39 For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!’”

Zechariah 13:9 (NASB)

9 “And I will bring the third part through the fire,

Refine them as silver is refined,

And test them as gold is tested.

They will call on My name,

And I will answer them;

I will say, ‘They are My people,’

And they will say, ‘The LORD is my God.’”

Zechariah 12:10 (NASB)

10 “I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.

Jeremiah 30:7 (NASB)

7 ‘Alas! for that day is great,

There is none like it;

And it is the time of Jacob’s distress,

But he will be saved from it.

Hosea 5:15 (NASB)

15 I will go away and return to My place

Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face;

In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem

Psalms 122:6-9 (NASB)

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

“May they prosper who love you.

7 “May peace be within your walls,

And prosperity within your palaces.”

8 For the sake of my brothers and my friends,

I will now say, “May peace be within you.”

9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God,

I will seek your good.

The Prince of Peace will arrive with His holy ones to judge an unbelieving world

Jude 1:14-15 (NASB)

14 It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, 15 to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”

He will set up HIs Kingdom of Peace and the Great King will enter through the gates of the Holy City of Righteousness and all the nations will come to the house of the Lord to worship the God of Jacob. Amen

Zechariah 14:4 (NASB)

4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.

Zechariah 14:5b (NASB) Then the LORD, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him!

Zechariah 14:9 (NASB)

9 And the LORD will be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one.

Psalms 24:9-10 (NASB)

9 Lift up your heads, O gates,

And lift them up, O ancient doors,

That the King of glory may come in!

10 Who is this King of glory?

The LORD of hosts,

He is the King of glory.

Zechariah 14:16 (NASB)

16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths.

Isaiah 2:2 (NASB)

2 Now it will come about that

In the last days

The mountain of the house of the LORD

Will be established as the chief of the mountains,

And will be raised above the hills;

And all the nations will stream to it.

The Lord is calling His people to wake up and we are called to provoke them to jealousy for He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

Psalms 121:4 (NASB)

4 Behold, He who keeps Israel

Will neither slumber nor sleep.

Romans 11:11 (NASB)

11 I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous.

We are living in amazing times. Let us prayerfully observe our surroundings and ask the Lord to open the eyes of our understanding that He may use us—each according to his gifts and his calling.

Isaiah 6:8 (NASB)

8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
